Me Tarzan. You Man.i.festo

For years I have tried - perhaps from a surface level - to understand the human condition. This led me away from the term "human" in favour of something a little more real, "mortal". I have tried to get people to think beyond their comfort. Admittedly, this was a bias. If I understood attractions why couldn't they? If I understood the pros of Theism and Science, why couldn't they? This was a mistake. People will learn what they will learn at the pace they will learn. I have been worried. When Dawkins pulled a Marx and [more or less implied] that religion was for the poor and uninitiated, I endeavoured to be brighter [I actually felt pain when I realised I knew nothing about architecture]. And for what? I still believe in Creation so I still "lose" in their eyes. I have tried to explain logic and have been deemed arrogant; I stick to my guns and was called stubborn. I conformed and felt weak. Time after Time, I felt my actions betrayed my God,...

Me Tarzan. You Statement.

It's a little after midnight on Monday and maybe it's the throbbing pain in my mouth or the corresponding pain in my ears but as I looked for a cold spot to rest my head while watching The Red Skull [Captain America] I wondered, "why is it every one who denounces humankind is either a maniac, a megalomaniac, a fool with a god complex or Kanye West?" Just once I'd like to read [or see] a situation where someone [a human] disavowed the concept of humanity in lieu of something better, grander, more purposeful. And we're not even talking the Buddhas or some ascetic. We're not talking about any of that. Just a normal guy [normal for what it's worth] saying: "Good bye humanity. Hello..." I dunno, something better. Admittedly, this is in [some small part] because of Man of Steel. The kind of comments I've heard just confirmed for me that logic is drifting away from this planet. Everyone just wants to feel easy. Few want to think. It...

Me Tarzan. You Real Reasons

--> Last Friday (May 17 th , 2013) while heading to work, prepping my mind for a presentation, I remembered a photo I saw on Faceboys. There was a man standing with a [pink I think] sign that said “Don’t destroy mom and dad” or something like it. He was obviously, protesting the gays – what’s new. I thought about it. I thought about my own mom and dad and realised… nope, it wasn’t the gays that destroyed family, it was DAD. I will now personally hold the gays responsible for not helping me win the 20 mllion dollar Lotto, since their powers are far greater than I first imagined. ... Tell me, it jars you some; tell me the idea of a girl wanting to spend her life with a girl or a boy with a boy leaves you somewhat uncomfortable. TELL ME that in your mind, all you see is penis [i hypothesize that "straight" people think more about gay sex than the actual gays but, what do i know] I’ll tell you, to try and understand the other side; I’d try to get you to th...

Me Tarzan. You Unfinished....

I didn’t start this blog to be about religion all the time... I wanted to talk about seemingly crazy hypotheses like Genetic Reincarnation SPRINKLED with the odd hypothesis unifying Faith and Science as I thought I’d be doing. And when I wasn’t throwing hypotheses around, I’d talk about ACTUALLY HAVING a hypothesis; possessing the brain work it takes to form a hypothesis and the strength it took to be wrong or laughed at. You know, intellectualism before baboons.   But the truth is, religion has – over the last… how much ever years of my life – pissed me off. Really. I try to break it down logically. I focus on the fact that for many years, religion has made me cringe. I break it down further to the belief that I may be ashamed by religion. I even reminded myself that, while I’m not the most evil Christian in the planet, I could probably be worlds better. It is the knowledge of this that has stopped me from being more religious. I’m a hypocrite [by somebody...

Me Tarzan. You Tales From the Middle of the Street.

Tales from the middle of the street [another Epistle of the Strange entry] I started off with a plan. I was going to talk about morality. You kow, the concept of it, the need for it, WHO’S MORALITY do we practice and why…. Intellectual stuff. I was going to break it down because after my experiment succeeded – in that it failed just as I expected it to – I had that moment where I thought maybe now I return to The Girl and/or even The God [did I mention I’m Theist? Christian to be exact? Pentecostal if you want to be pedantic about the whole thing]. It was a split second thought. Maybe a bit more. But the point was, I haad that moment where I strongly considered running back wholey and solely to the Church. Now my loathing of some Church people aside, this still seemed like a cop-out and a general “Prodigal” thing to do. Theists love prodigal stories. The son who thought himself independent finds himself in a moral and spiritual rot and drags himself back [con...

Me Tarzan. You Epistle of the Strange

I wrote an Easter Children's play called - Reason to Believe. Fairly self explanatory I think.  As i'm standing outside my soon to be ex office though,  watching black birds fly overhead, I am reminded WHY people don't believe. Imagine a story where a prophet is fed by ravens day after day. I told the blackbirds to fetch me money... that's not going to happen [I've done it before you see].  Oh, here's one: a prophet goes into a room, prays for a dead child and he wakes. Or how about the Apostles - whose shadows alone had the power to heal the sick.  Now, let's not forget, these acts were done through God, with God's help to DEMONSTRATE the power of the Living God... it's just funny to me that we don't seem to see that kind of thing happen anymore. Or maybe i'm blind to the obvious manifestations.  Oh but those are just stories meant to inspire good and strength. Clearly you haven't visited the Church. These are real. These things...

Me Tarzan. You Mourn

What, I'm a writer. I'm always melodramatic. And i'm putting this  post out because, maybe it will help somebody. That's me, all about helping... “If you need some time and space to brood i'll understand.” I laughed. As I said to him, I’m Dr. Fate with a Green Lantern Fetish  - I don’t brood. This of course [now that I think of it] is a lie. I DO brood. Massively so. But as lightbearer, I smile and get over life’s little hilarities. Like the fact that after nearly a year of secretly crushing, I finally told him the truth and he doesn’t feel the same way. Yes, him. What. Now before you “aww” and all that shit, bear in mind this was EXACTLY the outcome I prepped for. I was worried about too many things – like the fact that the Church people have gossiped enough about my mom and my family [if you think the world is hilarous, spend some time with the “Good People”]… I was worried that “people” would be right after all. And I grant you, the idea of tell...
