Me Tarzan. You Moral Outrage.

I hypothesize that moral outrage only works as far as and insomuch as it directly affects YOU. - The Hutchings Hypothesis

A few months ago, while waiting for a taxi to go to work, I noticed one of my neighbours’ fluffy white dog staring at me. Two black dots for eyes. It is in fact a very cute dog. And somewhere in some part of the world, that very cute dog will be cut up, seasoned and sold with flat bread. There will be umbrage. There will be moral outcry on the various social media outlets, when pictures of skinned pets at a butcher’s market surface. Then we will go to McBurger Fried Chicken or TGI Rubies and enjoy a hearty cow without a second glance.

The same is true for Orcas, Dolphins, Leatherbacks and other sea dwellers except for Marlins; because everybody knows that Marlins were made for sport. Right now, countless animals are being slaughtered for ceremonial or religious reasons to feed carnivores such as myself. This of course is fine as long as it’s not something or someone we actively care for/believe in. Like a furry rabbit or a glassy eyed cat.

The hypocrisy is not lost to me. I am – as I’ve stated before – a carnivore. I do not LIVE FOR meat – to be honest I quite like lentils by itself and I don’t see the need to “meatify” an otherwise good meal -  but I will wolf down a chicken roti, a side of steak and braised pork in wine just the same. I do however, have the capacity to see the hilarity of moral outrage when it comes to the species known as homo sapiens. If it doesn’t affect the immediate circle of a person, very often it is of no consequence. Sure your house is on fire, but I’ll worry about when I smell the fumes in my back yard.

Sidebar: Speaking of Homos, how interesting it is to me that this ENTIRE human race is classified by the genus Homo. You’re ALL HOMOS!  My planet doesn’t have such an issue since WE are classified as “Scolastia”. For example – “Scolastia Prima” – the first peoples; “Scolastia Minor” – toddlers/teens/youths; “Scolastia Major” and so on. Now given your various philosophies, teachings, dogmas and catmas… which of us is going to be destroyed first? I’m just saying. End Sidebar

It is funny that a group can accept – for example – science as a credible means to health and general wholeness UNTIL it contradicts a fundamental belief at which point science is of evil.

It is hilarious that climate change/environmental preservation is an important issue until it contradicts your personal need to acquire wealth. Disguise it as job creation all you want, the real thing here is the acquisition of wealth. And that’s okay, I like money but switching between passive neutrality and righteous indignation when it “hits home” is a tad on the ridiculous side.

It is devastatingly laughable to declare that all reported police action on criminal activity is justified until YOU are wrongfully accused at which point, the law is an ass.

Right or arrogant, there is something about moral outrage or rather sudden moral outrage that makes me wonder what the heck is wrong with this planet’s Homo Sapien population.
[Personal] Moral Outrage is to me, the same as laughing as everyone is being pelt with cold water but screaming bloody murder when the bucket is aimed at you. Perhaps it is time that we ACTIVELY believe in/care for more things outside of our little... LITTLE circle.

  1. re: the beginning, (since that is obviously what i care about more), you should make mention of the third option - not being a hypocrite.

Me Tarzan. You Preacher Politics

Valley of Decision by Christafari. Appropriate me thinks. On the night before the American election, while walking towards the taxi-stand, I became depressed by religion in politics. Actually, I became depressed by the thought of RACE in RELIGION but since that flowed into the political stream, one can say that I was sorely depressed all the way around. Here’s why: A prominent “Father of the Faith” so to speak, sat down with Mitt Romney. Now, tradition has shown that he’s the kind of guy that Presidents and Presidential hopefuls go to at some point in their careers, so it should come as no surprise that Master Mitt and the “Father” wold meet. It is said, that after meeting with him, though he didn’t give an all out public endorsement as other members of his family seem to have, he did advise the [Christian] public to vote according to Biblical Views/Beliefs....

Me Tarzan. You Christian Community

I got a question for the Christians of America and by extension, the world: Since when is Satan more innocuous than gay people? I know why you voted Trump. I know why you like Pence. I know why you voted Republican in the face of a woman who, (yes she might seem like a hawk), had the ability to be swayed for the good of your county. I know why: you wanted to restore what – in your mind is – good, strong Christian Conservative Values to America. Whatever that means. I add that last part in because you (American Theists) also believe things like – it’s okay to carry around as many guns as you like (it's your God-Given and constitutional right) or that climate change isn’t really that much of a thing. It’s like Tina Fey said in one of her Sarah Palin skits, “It’s just God hugging us closer.” Which I USED to chuckle about but honestly… given how you vote… I guess some of you think that too. Of course, the reality is, Christians (like most religions) believe in the end of d...

Me Tarzan. You List

--> I’ve been listening to SKYFALL since the radio edit dropped on Thursday. It tore through me indeed. But somewhere around Friday evening [maybe earlier], I realised that while most people were loving the song for it’s Adele/Bond value, for me it was an actual plea to Heaven. "Please, let the sky fall already." I had had enough. I wrote a short piece for my [name: classified] project and while doing so, I asked myself, “what would it take to make you happy?”. I wrote it on my phone.. Here now is the list. What would it take to make you happy? 1.               ACTUALLY seeing God I remember, the days leading up to the surgery thinking, what would happen if i went under and had some kind of Divine Visitation? What then? If I sat down to it, I can almost rationalise every faith experience. Almost. I think about how many times I was supposed to be dead - literally - and I think, it had to be God. Of ...
